6th January, 2013: Social Drive to Blairgowrie

As always, a good day out for Sprites and drivers alike. Weather was sunny and a bit cool but fantastic for sailing. Thanks once again to Jeff and Faye for their hospitality.

20th January, 2013: RACV’s Great Australian Rally

Sunday, 10th February: Social Drive to the 26th Picnic at Hanging Rock

9/10th March, 2013: Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motor Sport

Hot! Hot! Hot!  However, as always there was plenty to see and do.  The recently resurfaced track looked great and also made for quick times, so many lap records were broken.  The Expo shed housed some exotica, as well as some fine examples of Australian heritage racing cars.  Of special note for us was a replica (one of three) Sebring Sprite, whose owner had driven down from NSW.  This car is for sale if anyone is interested!

Sunday, 24th March 2013: Social Drive to Kalorama Rally

Great drive and lovely venue.  Our display looked pretty good!

Sunday 14th April, 2013: Federation’s Pakenham Picnic

This event was run by the Federation of Veteran, Vintage and Classic Vehicles Clubs and was an old fashion country picnic.  Great variety of vehicles on show – and one lonely Sprite!  Can recommend for future years.

21st April, 2013: RACV Classic Showcase at Flemington

Celebrating 100 years of Morris and 50 years of Lamborghini, Hillman Imp and Rover P6 and proudly presented by AOMC.

Sunday, 19th May 2013: RACV/AOMC Cavalcade to Seymour

24th-26th May 2013: Winton Historics

AHSDC sponsored two races and our corporate marquee was set up close to the track. Sunday 26 May was a beautiful sunny day for watching the racing and walking around the cars in the display area.  Sprites on the track certainly gave the bigger cars plenty of competition!
Unfortunately, Bill Quarrell’s Mk 1 had an altercation with a kangaroo on the way up, resulting in headlight damage.

Thursday, 13th June 2013: Tour of the Elfin Heritage Centre

The Elfin Heritage Centre pays tribute to the achievements of Elfin’s founder, Garrie Cooper, and maintains a record of its heritage. Great night with more than 40 people in attendance.

Wednesday, 26th June 2013: Italian Winter Nosh Night

15 members went out for a hearty meal on this cold winter’s night and a good time was had by all.

Sunday, 14th July 2013: Early Morning Run

Eight members prised themselves out of bed for this run (masochists!!). Breakfast was enjoyed at a lovely cafe in Healesville, where our members were joined by some from the MG Car Club who were also out in the brisk weather.

Thursday, 1st August 2013: Cars, Crime and Canapes Cocktail Party – did anybody go?!

24th-28th April 2013:  John Fowler’s Tour of the High Country, Victoria

What a FANTASTIC five day tour this was over the Anzac Weekend.  Great scenic driving roads, good accommodation and excellent company.  Wonderful weather too!

Many thanks to John Fowler for all his hard work, ably assisted by son Lachlan.
